Community Solar On Haida Gwaii

Xuyaa Sangslaang
SolShare is working with local partners, including Swiilawiid Sustainability Society and Tll Yahda Energy, to develop a community owned solar project in Masset on Haida Gwaii. The 97 kW solar array would be owned by local residents and other people in BC. The project is name “Xuyaa Sangslaang” meaning “the sun is trying to shine.”
The Grocery Co-op in Masset will host the project on their rooftop and purchase the solar power.
There is the opportunity for up to 192 community members to become co-owners. The minimum buy in is $500.
We will begin accepting local shareholders on September 8th. Priority will be given to residents of Haida Gwaii.
